Thursday Swimming

We are so lucky to be able to go swimming on a Thursday at the Panmure Lagoon Pool and have lessons. Here are some photos of us at our first session. It is important to be able to swim in NZ as we have lots of lovely beaches, rivers and lakes to swim in. Our lessons also include water safety.

Matariki Star

All the classes in the school have created a picture on a star cutout to decorate our school. This is ours.  Every one designed on paper and digitally. All have helped to paint.  Our story is below the picture.

Learning sign language through a Cybersmart Challenge

Did you know sign language is the third national language of New Zealand? Today, we learnt how to sign language by doing a Cybersmart Challenge. We were able to learn how to say our names using sign language from the Cybersmart Challenge slides on our class site. It was really interesting because you have to learn to spell your name letter by letter in sign language. We recorded ourselves on video then uploaded our videos to our drive.

Here is Carlo saying his name in sign language.

Creating images with shapes by Micaela

This week for Cybersmart we had to learn how to use shapes and create other things with shapes .

First we had to do the basics in the shapes and go down as we work.

Then we had to use everything that we have learnt and create our christmas tree and decorate it.

After that we had to create anything with shapes and show Miss Grant .

Finally we had to blog it .

Maungarei, Mt Wellington Visit

On Tuesday 19 March, the whole school went up the mountain in groups. At the trig station we were very lucky to learn about the archeological findings from hand digging the line to the reservoir like the sharp pipi shells spread from kete to help stop invaders with their bare feet. If we looked hard enough we could see our school. The Waipuna lagoon, Tamaki River and the Sky Tower were easy to spot.  We went with Room 6.
