In Term 2, Room 6 at Panmure Bridge School created art based on their learning about Matariki and the star Pohutukawa. If you visit, you’ll see all the stars from each class on display. Here’s Room 6’s journey. Enjoy!
We are so lucky to be able to go swimming on a Thursday at the Panmure Lagoon Pool and have lessons. Here are some photos of us at our first session. It is important to be able to swim in NZ as we have lots of lovely beaches, rivers and lakes to swim in. Our lessons also include water safety.
All the classes in the school have created a picture on a star cutout to decorate our school. This is ours. Every one designed on paper and digitally. All have helped to paint. Our story is below the picture.
This term we went to the Howick Historical Village to learn about butter making and toys used in the 1800s. Lots of fun was had.

Did you know sign language is the third national language of New Zealand? Today, we learnt how to sign language by doing a Cybersmart Challenge. We were able to learn how to say our names using sign language from the Cybersmart Challenge slides on our class site. It was really interesting because you have to learn to spell your name letter by letter in sign language. We recorded ourselves on video then uploaded our videos to our drive.
Here is Carlo saying his name in sign language.
Today I made a poster about exploring Blaketown School. We also labeled some places we saw in Google Earth. Then we took a screenshot to share here. We noticed that Blaketown School had lots of similar landmarks to Panmure Bridge School.
